We had the pleasure of working for different production companies to upholster furniture for the sets of their movies that were being filmed in Rhode Island.

The first movie we did was the Walt Disney Film called Underdog. It was filmed in downtown Providence and at the Cranston Armory. We had to re-design a steel constructed sofa to emulate a traditional sofa. It was made of steel because it was being thrown through the air in a scene.

We also did a Walt Disney Film, The Game Plan which starred “The Rock”. For that set they wanted very contemporary furniture. We upholstered the sofa, chairs, and bed for “The Rock” and also booths that were needed for a restaurant scene. This movie was filmed outside of Boston, MA.

Another movie we did quite a bit of work for was 27 Dresses starring Katherine Heigl. For that film we upholstered the headboard on her bed, different pieces in her living room and also pieces for the bridal salon scene and her office scene. 27 Dresses was mostly filmed in Providence with outside scenes shot in New York City.

There were many other television and movie productions we were involved in. The challenge at hand when working for film sets is to satisfy the unusual requests for the many different styles of used or old looking furniture.

We are proud to say that the production company’s came to us because of the commitment and personal attention we could provide them and the timely manner in which the work was completed and reasonable pricing.

This is true for all of our customers and the list of third and fourth generation families that keep coming back prove just that.
